Did You Know?  (Things I learned)
Picture

Did you know the
harp (not the clover)
is the symbol
of Ireland?

  • Did you know that music is a requirement in Irish Schools?
  • Did you know that the Irish refer to their language as Irish, not Gaelic?
  • Did you know that many of our folk songs were adapted from Irish tunes?

Famous Irishmen -
Conolly
Collins
O'Connell
James Conolly - was a socialist labor leader who was one of the leaders in the Easter Rising.
Michael Collins - was an imporant member of the revolution and a politician. He signed the treaty that created the Republic of Ireland

A big thank you to our guide, Pascal.
Who had many a story to tell,
He led us through towns
With never a frown
And was everyone's best pal!

Farewell to dear Ireland,
And to the people and friends that we made,
May our paths one day cross again!
